They're gone!

Hey everyone, thanks for all your comments. Greg and Stacey are now in a new non-smoking room, and are going to go and explore New York. They have left me in charge!

Party time!

Not so hot

Well we arrived in NY at about 1130 local time, and didn't get to our hotel until about 12:30 am. Then the fun started. Turns out the only room they had was a smoking room. Greg got pretty annoyed with the guy, and they are moving us to a non-smoking room this morning. But this place is a bit of a dive. Guess we'll be spending more time outside.

Anyway here's a few more photo's from Vancouver.
Here is another shot from up Grouse Mountain on Christmas day.
Greg and the Quatchi he rescued from Grouse Mountain. He's not a toy!
Some police on Horses. Quite a sight.
I salute you!

Woohoo!!!

Thanks for the best christmas present ever Stacey!

Well today we just shopped and it was chaotic. There was literally lines going into stores and you were rubbing shoulders with someone in most stores. We did however have a good spend. Stacey got a jacket, 2 tops and 2 pairs of shoes and greg got a nice jacket aswell. It has been very cold today too.

Greg had to buy a stupid little toy yesterday and now it taken over.

This is a random car parked up the street with random toys and crap glued all over it and it has a parking ticket.

Christmas Day!

Christmas day we went for a day on Grouse Mountain, about 10 minutes out of town. There was some pretty nice powder, and it was pretty crowded. We spent most of the day skiing, but also went ice skating, and also a bit of just looking around the mountain.

Some of the appropriate footwear we saw. This was taken about 2 seconds before they ended up on their bums.
Stacey was awesome at ice skating!
Greg needed the kiddie helper thing to start with. But then...
Greg managed to stand up all by himself!
Christmas dinner! But the view made up for it.

Vancouver Day 4

Today we went up the top of a viewing tower that showed great views of the whole city.

Also we went out to Capilano suspension bridge. It's quite high, and the forest around it is amazing.

We went back up to the Top of Vancouver for dinner at the revolving restaurant. Very nice food and amazing view. Here is our adopted Christmas tree!

The photos don't do this incredible view justice. The restaurant rotates about once an hour, so it's always changing. Very worthwhile if you ever come to Vancouver.

Vancouver Day 3

Today we did the second day of our trolley tour and ended up in the middle of nowhere and desperate to go to the toilet. We ended up accidentally walking through the gay village. Eventually we got back to downtown Vancouver and tried to find our way to a suspension bridge and got a guided tour by a man who turned out to be homeless and just wanted money. He was very lovely though and we missed the bus. We then went to the information center again and we are going the Grouse mountain on Christmas. Yay. Then we got some food and came home.

This is how much snow we have had. Been very cloudy so no good mountain photos but no rain thankfully.

These statues are the seven poses of laughter. Some of the poses are repeated. They are quite big.

Us with one of the poses of laughter.

We got married to Vancouver. How romantic.

Greg died and went to heaven. Not literally.

I'm pretty sure...

This may sound a bit weird, but I feel like I've seen both of these before. On the TV show Fringe.
Brain eating worm.

Rat/chicken/fish. Wow that is weird. They are commonly known as the swamp chicken, officially as "axolotl"

Vancouver Day 2

We took a trolley tour around the city today, and saw heaps of stuff.
Here is a small section of Vancouver Library, which is just a few minutes from our Hotel. It has been designed to look a bit like the Colosseum. It certainly is epic. 7 levels, each bursting with books. Dad would love it here.
Still in the Library, more than one place to eat.
A shot of the bridge that links Stanley Park with Northern Vancouver at dusk.
Here we are at the start of the 7.5 km walkway around Stanley Park. Vancouver's skyline in the background.
Some totem poles that are a feature of Stanley Park.

We went to Vancouver Aquarium, Canada's national aquarium.
A furry fellow that you would not want to find in your shoe. He's about as big as Greg's hand!
And we found Nemo hanging out with his mates!
Jelly fish that look pretty cool, but on that side of the glass.

Vancouver Day 1

Here are a few photos we took today around Vancouver.

Here is a giant ball of tinfoil. It must have just fallen on the street, and no one knew how to shift it. So they left it there. Very shiny.

A big Bull sculpture. They do have some random stuff here.

This is actually us at the airport. We don't look too bad on almost no sleep!

Here is the Christmas tree outside the Art Gallery. They couldn't quite reach the top....

Glad that's finished

We have finished a pretty long transit to Vancouver. We arrived at this Hotel at about 11pm local time. Still a bit tired, but we are going to get out and do stuff. It's cold and raining here, but we are hoping for snow. Maybe in NY? Even though it's cold, the Hotel is heated all the time, so Greg is cooking and Stacey is about right.

We didn't get too many photos of the last part of the trip. Photos of the inside of a plane don't really seem that exciting.

Coming into Vancouver last night was beautiful. Everything was lit up, they don't seem too worried about saving power.

Now we are off to hunt down some real food. We have just had some Pringles for breakfast, but that didn't hit the spot. We might try to take a city wide Trolley tour as well, and there's some galleries and things nearby.

We'll get some photos of those for you.

Bye!
